Today’s quote is from French author-statesman Michel de Montaigne, who is sometimes credited with being the father of the essay, as well as a philosopher who has influenced Friedrich Nietzsche to Isaaz Asimov. Born on Feb. 28th, 1533, he would have just celebrated his 480th birthday! We honor him today with one of his witticisms:
“It is difficulty that makes us prize things.”
It’s true. You want to climb that mountain because it’s a difficult one to climb, and not everyone is able to do it. You want to accept that challenge because you know the rewards are worth it if you conquer it.
This week, go for the difficult thing. And win the prize, whatever it may be.
